The Forest House...

The house is one of the original buildings of the Nyvang Farm. It has its origin in 1910 and was originally used as accommodation for day-labourers.

There lived 10 Polish beet growing workers before the house was expanded with the room where the weaving is.

At that time the smallholder family was self-supplying with many necessities and domestic industry and handcraft played a crucial part in life. Today the house is used by Holbæk area crafts association which shows weaving, sewing, piece of lace and different kinds of woodwork.

The Co-operative Village has got an old pipe and arts turner from Holbæk, and the work with turning wood takes place on a daily basis.
