Frederik Madsen´s Haulagecontractor businessIn 1930ies Zone Fire Guards was established all over Denmark. Every fire guard should operate within a radius of about 15 kms and usually it was a sideline often for the local blacksmith. His wife minded the telephone and her husband took care of the vehicles (usually only one combined rescuing vehicle). Through the 30ies the need for assistance to cars had increased, and especially in the market towns the rescue stations were expanded from being simple garages to bigger establishments with a guard room, garage and workshop. The establishment off Frederik Madsen’s Haulage Contractor Business was beginning to take shape. The first turf for the Frederik Madsen’s Haulage Contractor Business was cut on the 25th of May 2010. Now the roof is almost ready. The wood comes from Nedre woods in Tølløse and is donated by Holbæk Kommune. Glumsø sawmill is chopping trees which are going to dry for 2 years. The garage is going to be situated near the old Zone station and the lookout tower is going to be the gathering place for a zonestation, a Zone workshop and it is going to be a garage for Nyvang old cars. The haulage contractor’s private house will be on the first floor and the room for for the people of the zone will also be here. Part of the workforce are voluntaries. Right now there are 9 ready and very different cars, and 2 are being repaired or rebuilt. The cars can be rented by private persons and students are driven in the big cars. |
